Welcome To My World 🌎

You know the deal, a wife, a mom, a nurse, a friend, a child etc… All the identities yet none of them a complete picture. Just a lady sitting on the fence in the truly forgotten generation between millennial and gen X (Xennials rule!), trying to raise productive members of society and not tomorrow’s serial killers. This is, of course, while watching the world implode around us. It’s fun. Really. Ok, maybe not fun... But it’s something. I really wouldn’t change anything, struggles and all. I’ve seen some things. Heck we’ve all seen some things. We’ve done some things. And we’ve lived through some things. I’ve decided to share some of those things with you. Let’s face it, I can’t be the only one. As a matter of fact, I know I'm not the only one because I do have a few friends. They’ve grown to love me, cause I know too much to be replaced. They’ll drop into my ramblings a time or two. Maybe one of them will chime in on how amazing it is to be my friend. 😝

In the age of social media and all those platforms, I have decided to stick with the tried-and-true printed words and not a Vlog platform. I like reading, and not having people stare at me while I talk to myself. What if I have a booger? 😳 You will just have to use your imagination and make up a voice in your head to match all this that comes through my ramblings. I’m confident your version of me will be lovely and much more interesting than plain Jane over here. Disclaimer – all of the names moving forward are fictional, completely fabricated especially if the story is inspired by actual events. A little extra housekeeping – I am not an English major. I never took a creative writing course, and I am absolutely not an author. I write how I speak, which is grammatically incorrect, and I am well aware of it. If you are looking for well edited classical literature, this is not that place. However, I do think that if you can overlook that minor detail with a realistic expectation, you may have a little chuckle here and there. And I am so excited to share that with you.

Now, on to the main course. Who am I? Well, I am just your average 40 something, trying to cling on to middle class status is Suburbia, USA. In my previous life, I was born and raised in good old New York, as was my husband. Our childhoods were the same, but different. He has had more years of experience than I have (my nice way of saying he is old(er)). We grew up in two different towns with two vastly different childhoods. Fast forward – normal childhood, rebellious teen, wild early adulthood, met my husband. Did some things, had some kids, did some more stuff, got married, had some more kids, got some dogs and working on our happily ever after. It is not always sunshine and rainbows being married to me. Sometimes it may actually be like a shelter in place with a rabid honey badger during a Cat 5 hurricane surrounded by F4 tornadoes kind of life. What doesn't kill ya right? But he seems to enjoy it, sometimes. Before covid, we found ourselves a nice little town, away from the drama of the northeast part of the country (still filled with drama though), and relocated our family, including Skip the fish, from Suburbia Hell, USA. And now you’ve been fully caught up on the past four decades of me.
